Free tool · Image converter
Convert HEIC images to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF for free
Pick an iPhone HEIC, JPG, PNG or WebP file up to 10 MB, choose the output type (JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF) and press Convert. In our test the file came back in about a second. It is free, 5 times a day, with no sign-up.
The file is uploaded to GenLabs' server to be converted. It is not converted in your browser, and it converts one file at a time.
This tool does not take PDF files and does not merge many images into one PDF.
Output format
Drag a file here, or pick from Camera Roll (mobile)
Supports HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP up to 10MB
How to convert an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG
Pick the HEIC file, leave the JPG button on (it is the default) and press "Convert". In our test a 1.0 MB HEIC gave a 302 KB JPG with the same pixel size (1086 × 1448). A JPG opens everywhere a HEIC will not.
- Pick the file: drag it in or choose a HEIC, JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB (on a phone, pick from the Camera Roll).
- Choose the output type: JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF (JPG is the default).
- Press "Convert", then press "Download". The file is named converted with the new extension.
HEIC is the file type an iPhone uses: Apple says iOS 11 was the first version to support HEIF, and that HEIF compresses better than JPEG at the same quality (Apple Support, https://support.apple.com/en-us/116944, dated 19 December 2025). If you do not want HEIC any more, go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose "Most Compatible". New photos will then be saved as JPEG.
In our test, a HEIC with a rotation flag and a location stored in it (we built the test file ourselves; it is not a file from a real iPhone) gave a JPG that was upright and carried no location or camera model.
Which file types Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and LINE accept
Shopee, Lazada and LINE state JPG and PNG. They list no HEIC and no WebP. If your picture is an iPhone HEIC or a WebP you downloaded, convert it to JPG before you upload. Every entry comes from the platform's own page, read on 29 September 2026.
| Where | File types stated | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Shopee product image | JPEG, JPG, PNG (up to 2 MB) | [1] |
| Lazada product image | jpg, png (up to 3 MB) | [2] |
| TikTok Shop | the add and manage products page does not state the image file type, and the storefront images page states JPG, JPEG, PNG | [3] |
| LINE Official Account | JPG, JPEG, PNG | [4] |
| Facebook and Instagram image ads | JPG or PNG recommended (Meta also accepts HEIC and WEBP) | [5] |

JPG to PNG and other conversions: which output type to pick, and how big the file gets
For an online shop, pick JPG, because PNG is much bigger. In our test a 1.0 MB HEIC gave a 302 KB JPG but a 3.9 MB PNG, which is over Shopee's 2 MB limit. We converted the same picture (a GenLabs-made image of a drink can, 1086 × 1448 pixels) through every pair in this table. The pixel size stays the same in every row.
| Original | Convert to | File you get |
|---|---|---|
| HEIC 1.0 MB | JPG | 302 KB |
| HEIC 1.0 MB | WebP | 249 KB |
| HEIC 1.0 MB | 616 KB | |
| HEIC 1.0 MB | PNG | 3.9 MB |
| JPG 665 KB | WebP | 253 KB |
| JPG 665 KB | 666 KB | |
| JPG 665 KB | PNG | 3.9 MB |
| PNG 2.6 MB | JPG | 314 KB |
| PNG 2.6 MB | 2.6 MB | |
| WebP 374 KB | JPG | 314 KB |
| WebP 374 KB | PNG | 3.7 MB |
| WebP 374 KB | 3.7 MB |
The sample HEIC was made from the same picture by our own program, so it is not a file from an iPhone; a real phone file will be a different size. What to know before you choose:
- JPG: fixed quality level, about 80 out of 100, which you cannot change (we measured it from the file we got back). It is the type every platform above accepts.
- PNG: from a JPG or WebP it matched the original pixel for pixel in our test, but the file is big. Converting a JPG or HEIC to PNG does not make the picture sharper. It only makes the file bigger.
- WebP: quality level about 92 and smaller than this tool's JPG (same HEIC: 249 KB against 302 KB), but Shopee, Lazada and LINE do not list this type.
- PDF: you get 1 page, and the page is the size of the picture (1086 × 1448 points in the test), not A4. A JPG goes into the PDF as it is, with no second compression (666 KB from 665 KB).
- Transparent background: a PNG with the background removed gets a white background when converted to JPG (a JPG cannot be transparent), and stays transparent when converted to WebP (tested with a red circle on a transparent background that we made; in the JPG the area around the circle came out pure white).
Where does your file go
The file is uploaded to GenLabs' server. This tool does not convert in your browser. When you press Convert, your browser sends the file to genlabs.in.th and gets the converted file straight back. The server sends the file itself, not a link (we checked what was sent and what came back).
GenLabs does not store the result; it goes straight to your browser.
What this tool does not do
- It does not take PDF files: pick a PDF and the screen says "Only HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP files are supported". PDF is an output type only.
- It does not merge many images into one PDF: it converts one file at a time, and you get a 1-page PDF per image.
- It does not convert in your browser: the file is uploaded to the server (see the section above).
- It has no quality slider: JPG about 80 and WebP about 92 (for a smaller file, use the image compressor: https://genlabs.in.th/en/tools/image-compressor).
- It does not change the pixel size (use the image resizer: https://genlabs.in.th/en/tools/image-resizer).
- The free limit is 5 uses a day, up to 10 MB per file.
Convert one pair
Pick the page that matches your file. Each one has the test results for that pair.
Converted. Next, make the product photo help you sell.
A file that opens is still the photo you took. To get product images, ads and posts ready for your shop and page, send one product photo from your phone to GenLabs and pick a direction. GenLabs writes the prompts and makes the images: a set in 2 minutes, and you write no prompts yourself. Then you can schedule posts to TikTok, Instagram and Facebook from the same place.
