A product review video script for a short clip has 5 parts in a row: the hook (the first 2-3 seconds, which stop the scroll), the problem part, the real-use part, the proof part and the call-to-action (CTA) part. A 15-second clip splits 2 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 2 seconds. A 30-second clip splits 3 + 5 + 10 + 7 + 5 seconds. The spoken Thai should run at most 10 characters per second. This page has Thai spoken lines for skincare, fashion, food and gadgets (small devices such as a charger, earphones or a handheld fan). It has a check that the proof part can be seen on screen, which we call the mute test (ทดสอบปิดเสียง in Thai). It also has two review clips made with GenLabs, with a table of what each shot (one cut of the film) does.
A product review video script has 5 parts; each has one job and its own seconds
A product review video script is what you write before you film: the words and the pictures, in order, second by second. A short review clip splits into 5 parts, as in the table. The times are a starting point we set. Adjust them for your product.
| Part | Job | 15 s | 30 s | Passes when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Hook | Tells the viewer what the clip is about, with a problem or a picture they want to keep watching, for example a hand parting hair to show the scalp | 0-2 | 0-3 | Someone who has never seen the product knows what the clip is about |
| 2. Problem part | One scene the customer sees themselves in, for example standing in front of a wardrobe, or a phone battery about to die | 2-5 | 3-8 | The scene really happens to your customers |
| 3. Real-use part | The product in the hand or on the body, doing the one thing you sell | 5-10 | 8-18 | The viewer sees how to use it from start to finish |
| 4. Proof part | Something the viewer can check with their eyes on screen, for example cream on the back of a hand, a detail on the back of a shirt, a number on a display | 10-13 | 18-25 | Still visible with the sound off |
| 5. CTA part | One next step, the call to action (CTA), for example tap the basket (the product button under a TikTok Shop video) or message us on LINE | 13-15 | 25-30 | There is one step, and the viewer knows where to go |
The mute test is watching the clip with the sound off and answering 3 questions: what is the product, how is it used, and what can I check with my eyes? If you can answer all three, parts 3 and 4 pass. If you need the sound to know, that part is only speech, so add a picture. The hook and the CTA part may use sound or on-screen text.
Write the spoken lines to fit the seconds: plan for 10 characters a second
Keep the spoken line of each part to about 10 characters a second at most. The budget counts Thai characters: count every vowel and tone mark, do not count spaces, and write numbers as spoken words (สามสิบ, not 30), so the count matches what is actually said.
We counted from the two example clips on this page. The 15-second hair serum clip has about 170 characters of speech, which is 11.3 characters a second. The 20-second dress clip has about 259 characters, which is 12.9 (counted from a transcript made by software, so it may be slightly off). Both clips speak faster than 10, so we set 10 as a planning number that leaves some room. If you read the line aloud with a timer and it runs over the time of its part, cut words. Do not speak faster.
| Part | 15-second clip uses (seconds) | Characters at most | 30-second clip uses (seconds) | Characters at most |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hook | 2 | 20 | 3 | 30 |
| Problem part | 3 | 30 | 5 | 50 |
| Real-use part | 5 | 50 | 10 | 100 |
| Proof part | 3 | 30 | 7 | 70 |
| CTA part | 2 | 20 | 5 | 50 |
| Total | 15 | 150 | 30 | 300 |
Spoken lines for 4 product types: fill in your facts and use them today
The tables below are 15-second templates. The spoken lines are in Thai, because the Thai line is the deliverable, and each has its English meaning beside it. Text in bold is a fact you must replace with the real fact about your product. Text that is not bold can be used as it is. The numbers in the Characters column are counted from the Thai sentence shown, and every row stays within the budget in section 2. If you change the bold, count again. If you do not sell on TikTok Shop, change "กดตะกร้า" (tap the basket) to "ทักไลน์" (message us on LINE) or "กดลิงก์ในโปรไฟล์" (tap the link in the profile). If you add an ending particle such as ค่ะ or ครับ to match your own voice, count it in the budget too.
Skincare and hair care (serum, cream)
| Seconds | Part | Spoken line (Thai) | What it says | Characters | What must be seen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0-2 | Hook | หน้าแห้งตึงตอนบ่าย | Dry, tight face in the afternoon | 18 | Face to the camera, a hand strokes the cheek |
| 2-5 | Problem part | ครีมเหนียว แต่งหน้าไม่ติด | Sticky cream, makeup will not stay on | 24 | Close-up of the fingertips, thumb and index finger pulled apart, the sticky cream stretching between them in a line |
| 5-10 | Real-use part | ตัวนี้เนื้อบางเบา หยดสองหยดที่แก้ม เกลี่ยเบาๆ | This one has a thin, light texture. Two drops on the cheek, spread gently | 43 | The bottle in the hand, a drop onto the cheek, fingers spread it |
| 10-13 | Proof part | ดูบนหลังมือ เกลี่ยแล้วซึมหมด | Look on the back of my hand. Spread it and it absorbs completely | 27 | Close-up of the back of the hand, the texture disappears as it is spread |
| 13-15 | CTA part | กดตะกร้าดูได้เลย | Tap the basket and take a look | 16 | Hold the bottle up to the camera and point down |
The proof for this type is the texture of the product on real skin, and the label on the bottle. You can say "ซึมหมด" (absorbs completely) only when the picture in the proof part really shows that.
Fashion (top, trousers, bag)
| Seconds | Part | Spoken line (Thai) | What it says | Characters | What must be seen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0-2 | Hook | เต็มตู้แต่ไม่มีใส่ | A full wardrobe and nothing to wear | 18 | Standing in front of an open wardrobe, holding an empty hanger |
| 2-5 | Problem part | อยากได้ตัวเดียวที่ใส่ได้ทุกวัน | I want just one piece I can wear every day | 30 | Lift two or three tops, look at them, put them back |
| 5-10 | Real-use part | ตัวนี้ผ้าทิ้งตัว คอสูง ใส่กับยีนส์ก็สวย | This one has a drapey fabric and a high neck, and it looks good with jeans | 37 | Wear it, turn to show the front and the side, with jeans in the picture |
| 10-13 | Proof part | ดูดีเทลด้านหลัง มีกระดุม | Look at the detail on the back. It has buttons | 23 | Close-up of the back of the neck, buttons and seams visible |
| 13-15 | CTA part | ดูไซส์กับสีในตะกร้า | See the sizes and colours in the basket | 19 | Stand full length facing the camera and smile |
The proof for fashion is a detail one front photo does not show, such as the back, the seams, the fabric in motion, and a colour that must match what the customer will receive.
Food and snacks
| Seconds | Part | Spoken line (Thai) | What it says | Characters | What must be seen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0-2 | Hook | แกะซองปุ๊บ เสียงกรอบ | The moment the bag opens, that crisp sound | 19 | Close-up of a hand tearing the bag open |
| 2-5 | Problem part | บ่ายสามหิว แต่ไม่อยากกินหนัก | Hungry at three in the afternoon, but I don't want a heavy meal | 27 | Sitting at a computer, glancing at the clock |
| 5-10 | Real-use part | เทใส่มือ เห็นชิ้นใหญ่ชัดๆ ลองกัดให้ดูเลย | Pour it into my hand. You can see the big pieces clearly. Let me bite one to show you | 38 | Pour into the palm, take one bite in front of the camera |
| 10-13 | Proof part | ดูข้างซอง น้ำหนักสามสิบกรัม | Look at the side of the bag. Net weight thirty grams | 26 | Close-up of the label on the side of the bag, the number is readable |
| 13-15 | CTA part | สั่งได้ในตะกร้าเลย | You can order it in the basket | 18 | Hold the bag up to the camera |
The proof for food is what can be read on the real label (weight, ingredients) and pieces of food that can be seen clearly, not words such as "the tastiest".
Gadgets (charger, earphones, handheld fan)
| Seconds | Part | Spoken line (Thai) | What it says | Characters | What must be seen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0-2 | Hook | แบตจะหมดแล้ว ทำไงดี | The battery is about to die. What do I do? | 18 | The phone screen shows a low battery number |
| 2-5 | Problem part | รอรถอยู่ ไม่มีปลั๊กให้เสียบ | Waiting for a ride, and no socket to plug into | 26 | Standing at the roadside or at a bus stop |
| 5-10 | Real-use part | ตัวนี้เสียบสายแล้วชาร์จได้เลย ขนาดเท่าฝ่ามือ | This one: plug in the cable and it charges right away. It is the size of a palm | 43 | Plug the cable into the phone, put the product on the palm to show its size |
| 10-13 | Proof part | ชาร์จสิบนาที ขึ้นเป็นสามสิบ | Charge for ten minutes and it goes up to thirty | 26 | The battery percentage and a stopwatch on screen in the same frame |
| 13-15 | CTA part | กดตะกร้าดูรุ่นได้เลย | Tap the basket to see the models | 20 | Hold the product up to the camera |
The proof for gadgets is a number you measured yourself and filmed on screen. The line above uses example numbers. Measure your own product and replace them with the real numbers.
Expand to 30 seconds. You do not need to write it all again. Keep the same hook (you now have 3 seconds, room for up to 30 characters). Extend the problem part to 5 seconds by showing a second scene the customer meets. Extend the real-use part to 10 seconds by showing one more way to use it. Extend the proof part to 7 seconds with a second proof of a different kind from the first (for example cream on the back of the hand, then the label on the bottle). Extend the CTA part to 5 seconds by saying which basket or link has the product. The character budget for 30 seconds is in the table in section 2.
The proof part: what you can film at once, and what needs something real behind it first
Proof you can use at once is what you can film from the product in front of you. Results that take time, such as "I have used it for a month", before-and-after pictures, and customers' words, need something real behind them before they go in a clip.
| Product type | Film at once | Needs something real behind it first |
|---|---|---|
| Skincare and hair care | The texture on the back of the hand, the label on the bottle, how to use it step by step | Results after continued use, before-and-after pictures of a real user, customers' words |
| Fashion | Details, the fabric in motion, the back, a colour that matches what is really shipped | The wearer's height and size, which must belong to the person actually in the picture |
| Food | The label on the side of the bag, the weight, the ingredients as on the label, a close-up of a piece | "Bestseller" needs a number from your own shop |
| Gadgets | A number on the screen with a stopwatch, the size against a hand, buttons and ports | A number you measured yourself on this actual product |
How to keep real proof on hand: film a 5-second video each time you really use the product, and keep the chats where customers message to praise it. If the presenter in the clip is AI, have the presenter say only what can be shown from the product itself, such as the texture, the size and how to use it. For results from real use, use your own clip or a real customer's chat.
Review clips made with GenLabs: see a script become a clip, shot by shot
These two clips are in the portfolio section of the GenLabs website and were made with GenLabs. Both are vertical 9:16 (the serum clip 720 x 1280, the dress clip 1080 x 1920) with Thai speech. The tables describe only what is in the picture and what each shot does in the 5-part structure. The time of each shot is measured from the cuts in the video file. The part named for each shot is our reading. We do not quote the spoken lines on this page. The serum clip has no Thai text on screen (only the English label on the bottle). The dress clip has Thai captions burned onto 8 of its 9 shots (shot 2 is an English "unbox" sticker).
| Shot | Seconds | What you see | Part in the 5-part structure |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0-2 | Close-up on the forehead. Two hands part dark hair to show the parting and the scalp | Hook: a picture of the scalp parted for the viewer. This example puts the hook and the problem part in one shot. The picture shows the parting and the scalp but not thin hair, so the hair-loss problem comes from the speech alone |
| 2 | 2-4 | She holds a clear dropper bottle beside her face. The English label on the bottle is readable. Her expression goes from a pout to a smile | Real-use part: introduces the product (with the sound off you still know from the label that it is a serum) |
| 3 | 4-5.75 | Close-up of the bottle in her hand. The other hand pulls the dropper up out of the bottle | Real-use part: opening it to use |
| 4 | 5.75-6.9 | Extreme close-up: one drop of clear serum at the tip of the dropper, with the other hand's fingertip held underneath | Proof part: the real product texture is seen |
| 5 | 6.9-9.9 | Drops along the parting. The other hand parts the strands with fingers and massages | Real-use part: used on the scalp along the parting |
| 6 | 9.9-12 | Side of the face, eyes closed, a hand smooths the hair at the hairline | Real-use part: another spot |
| 7 | 12-15 | Medium close-up facing the camera, spreading her hair with both hands. The bottle is at the lower left of the frame. It is a light-blue-cap bottle, not the white-cap bottle of shots 2-5 | CTA part: closes by inviting the viewer to try it, but does not say where to go, so it fails our CTA-part test |
The proof part of this example is in the middle of the clip (shot 4), not at the end. The order can be swapped. Ask only that it is still visible with the sound off.
| Shot | Seconds | What you see | Part in the 5-part structure |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0-2 | She holds a pink mailer bag in both hands in front of the camera, looks excited, then smiles. Thai text at the top of the screen | Hook: the parcel has just arrived |
| 2 | 2-4 | Close-up of a hand tearing open the bag. The address label on the bag and the cream-coloured fabric being pulled out are visible. An "unbox" sticker | Follows the hook: opens the parcel to show the real item (matches none of the 5 parts) |
| 3 | 4-6 | Wearing a pink floral dress on a cream background, standing to the camera, both hands holding the sleeve ends | Real-use part: shown being worn |
| 4 | 6-8 | Close-up at the chest: both hands tie a pink ribbon at the neckline into a bow | Proof part: a detail the eye can check (the bow can be tied) |
| 5 | 8-10 | Standing in front of a tall mirror, smiling at the camera, one hand holds a sleeve end | Real-use part: the full-length shape |
| 6 | 10-12.5 | Same mirror, both hands on her hips, showing the waist, which is gathered, fitted fabric | Real-use part: the shape at the waist |
| 7 | 12.5-15 | Close-up from the mouth down to the thighs: the bow, the gathered waist and the tiered skirt. A hand touches the waist, then rests at her side | Proof part: fabric and waist detail up close |
| 8 | 15-17.5 | She stands in the middle of the room and turns. The skirt swings with the movement. The dress looks longer than in the mirror shots | Proof part: the fabric in motion |
| 9 | 17.5-20 | Upper body to thighs, smiling at the camera, at the end pointing a hand toward the dress. Thai text at the top of the screen | CTA part: closes with an endorsement that you must have it, and does not say the next step or where to go, so it fails our CTA-part test |
This clip has no problem part. The hook is the parcel that has just arrived. A product sold on looks (a dress, a top, a bag) can skip the problem part if the hook and the real-use part already say the same thing. A product that solves a problem, such as a serum or a charger, should have a problem part of 2-3 seconds. Two more points we see in these two clips. First, both clips end without saying where to go. The next step (the basket or LINE) has to be added when you post. Second, the pictures disagree with themselves between shots. The serum bottle in the last shot has a light-blue cap instead of a white one, and the dress in shot 8 looks longer than in the mirror shots. Before you use a clip like this, compare it with the real product, shot by shot.
These two examples are ours. The words spoken in the videos are not claims your real product can make. We have no sales or view numbers for these two examples, so we cite no result. This page has no example clip for food or gadgets yet.
TikTok Shop Academy writes 4 video structures; how they line up with the 5 parts
TikTok Shop Academy in Thai has a section called "จะเขียนสคริปต์วิดีโอสั้นได้อย่างไร?" (How do I write a short-video script?). It lists 4 video structures and says a length of 15-30 seconds lets viewers enjoy the information most. The page is dated 27 January 2023 (old advice, not a rule). The left column below is TikTok's words. The right column is our reading, not what TikTok wrote.
| TikTok writes | Our reading with the 5 parts |
|---|---|
| Result, process, result | The hook is a picture of the result, the real-use part is the process, the proof part is the result again |
| Step by step, before vs after ("You are suffering from X now; after using the product, the state is better") | The problem part, the real-use part and the proof part. The before and after pictures must be real ones from your product |
| Daily vlog | The real-use part is told as one day. The hook is the first scene of the day |
| Ask a question at the start of the video and answer it later | The hook is the question, the proof part is the answer |
In our reading, the 4 structures put the jobs of the 5 parts in a different order. They do not use other jobs. TikTok's page: Key parts of a short video in TikTok Shop Thailand (in Thai, read 30 September 2026). If the clip will go in the basket, compare the product in the video with the product in the basket before you post, as written in make TikTok Shop product videos match the basket.
Turn the script into a clip in GenLabs: four steps to the post
GenLabs makes a vertical video from a product photo and a short brief, with a Thai AI presenter speaking about the product. You do not write prompts (the instructions you type to an AI). GenLabs writes them. In GenLabs you can:
- Shoot the product photo so the whole product shows, then upload it. See shoot a better product photo first.
- Write a short brief, one or two lines, on what the product is and who it is sold to. Use the problem part and the real-use part from your script as the material. If you want to add wishes of your own, you can type them too.
- Pick a Thai AI presenter, a personality, a scene and a length (10-15 seconds, 20 seconds or 30 seconds). GenLabs states it takes 2 minutes.
- Run the mute test on the clip you get. If the proof part still cannot be seen on screen, or the product name and the text on the packaging do not match, make it again. If it passes, download the clip or schedule a post to TikTok, Instagram and Facebook for supported accounts.
Your script is your own plan. Use it to check that the clip you get has all 5 parts. More on video from a product photo: make an AI video from one product photo. If you want a presenter to speak Thai about the product, see AI video with a Thai-speaking presenter.
Making video needs a monthly plan, starting at Startup, ฿599 a month. Social publishing is part of every plan. The Startup plan connects 1 social account. The Pro and Business plans connect unlimited accounts. See all plans and prices.
Limits to know before you use this script
- We have not measured which kind of clip sells better. The times of the 5 parts are a starting point we set, not numbers from a platform. We have no sales or view numbers for the two example clips.
- 10 characters a second is our planning number. The two example clips speak 11.3 and 12.9, counted from a transcript made by software. We have not tested that 10 fits real voices. People can speak faster or slower.
- The sample scripts need the facts of your product. The parts in bold are not claims your product can make. Replace them with the real facts before you film or make the clip.
- The spoken lines in our example clips belong to those examples. They are not claims your real product can make.
- This page has example clips only for skincare and fashion. The food and gadget scripts have no clip yet.
- AI video may not match every point. Check the product name, the text on the packaging and the Thai text on screen every time before you use a clip.
- The TikTok page we used is old. It is dated 27 January 2023. Read it again before you treat it as a rule.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a product review video script, and what does it include?
A product review video script is what you write before you film a review clip: the words and the pictures, in order, second by second. A short clip splits it into 5 parts: the hook, the problem part, the real-use part, the proof part and the call-to-action (CTA) part. A 15-second clip splits 2 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 2 seconds. The times and the fill-in scripts for 4 product types are in sections 1 and 3.
How long should a product review video be?
TikTok Shop Academy in Thai (27 January 2023) says 15-30 seconds lets viewers enjoy the information most (old advice, not a rule). The templates on this page come in both 15 and 30 seconds. The seconds of each part are in section 1.
What does a TikTok product review script need?
The 5 parts in section 1. If the clip goes in the basket, the product in the video must be the same as the product in the basket. Open the product page next to the clip and check it shot by shot before you post (a shot is one cut of the film). The full method is in make TikTok Shop product videos match the basket.
Can I use ChatGPT to write a product review script?
Yes. Give it the facts of the product, the length of the clip and the character budget of each part from section 2, then ask it to write the 5 parts in order by second. ChatGPT does not know what your real product is like. If you do not give it the numbers and the facts from the label, it will guess. When you have the script, run the mute test against the pictures you will film.
Can I make a product review clip without showing my face?
Yes. Film only your hands and the product, following the table for your product type, or use a Thai AI presenter in GenLabs. Both ways use the same 5 parts. The proof part must be visible on screen either way.
How many credits does a product review clip use in GenLabs?
A 10-15 second video uses 15 credits. This page does not give the credits for 20 and 30 seconds. The Startup plan, ฿599 a month, has 80 credits, which is 5 videos of 10-15 seconds. Pro, ฿1,990, has 400 credits, which is 26 videos. Business, ฿4,990, has 1,600 credits, which is 106 videos. This is if you spend all the credits on video. Plan credits do not carry over to the next period.
